Escape Road 3

In this top-down escape driving game, falling into the water or losing your car is no longer game over. Escape Road 3 from publisher AZGames allows you to jump out, swim to shore, parachute, or switch to boats and planes to continue your escape. Separate mini-games and a new combo system make each playthrough different from previous installments.

Gameplay Loop and Objectives

Each run begins with choosing a car, character, and power-ups. In each level, drive through chaotic streets filled with cars, obstacles, and pursuing forces. Collect coins scattered along the way to unlock new cars and upgrade equipment. The longer you survive, the more aggressive the police become, and there are no fixed stopping points.

New Mechanisms in Escape Road 3

Multi-Vehicle Escape

When your car is damaged or falls into the water, your character doesn't lose immediately. You can swim to shore, switch to a boat at sea, fly a plane through the airspace, or parachute over difficult terrain. This is the biggest mechanism that distinguishes Part 3 from the previous two, allowing for extended gameplay across multiple environments in quick succession.

Mini-Games and Mythic Vehicles

The small arrows around the vehicles not only lead to money but also to individual mini-games: F1 racing, firefighting, zombie slaying, treasure hunting at sea, and defending against invasion. Each mini-game has a different objective. Complete them to unlock Mythic vehicles and rare rewards not obtainable through regular runs.

Longer Escape Tactics

• Stay in the middle lane for faster reflexes to obstacles on either side.
• Sudden sharp turns are more effective at breaking through encirclement than straight acceleration.
• If surrounded, jump out of the car immediately; don't try to drive away.
• Combine character and vehicle with the terrain to maximize stats.
• Collect hearts for health early; don't save them until the car is about to break down.

Controls and Shortcuts

• A/D or left/right arrow keys: drive and change lanes.
• S or down arrow: reverse.
• Spacebar: enter or exit the vehicle.
• F: activate legendary items.
• Right mouse button: aim the gun taken from a slain police officer.
• Left mouse button: shoot.

Escape Road 3 doesn't completely change the chase formula that made the series, but adds enough new systems to force players to think, not just react. Enough reason to try it even if you're already familiar with the previous two installments.
